The Bonding & Attunement in Neuropsychiatric Disorders (BAND) Lab is offering a unique full-time unpaid internship that will last approximately 12 weeks during the summer of 2016 (June-August). This internship is ideal for highly motivated students/recent graduates with strong interests in mental health and cognitive neuroscience. Following summer, exceptional interns will be offered the opportunity to continue into the fall (16 hr/week minimum commitment).
-Assist in research studies involving intranasal oxytocin, a neuropeptide that plays an important role in manipulating how the brain processes social information
-Gain experience working with patients with mental illness in a clinical setting
-Learn techniques in cognitive neuroscience and psychiatry
-Complete a summer research project and poster presentation
-Great mentorship opportunities including letters of reference for applying to graduate and professional programs
-Perfect for premedical and psychology students or anyone interested in a career in science or medicine
-Current students may earn course credit through their university
-Previous lab experience is preferred but not required
